I have recently invested in my first Hydroflask, a yellow bottle that I have meticulously put many stickers on. I bought the rather expensive
bottle brand because many kids in choir also have them, and I wanted to feel like I had something in common with the other choir kids.
Hydroflasks have a few big pros and many small cons, so I decided to make a guide for anyone curious in purchasing one:
Pros:
They can keep drinks cold and hot.
You can put STICKERS on it. (My Hydroflask stickers include: Avatar: The Last Airbender, Gravity Falls, Hamilton, Lord of the Rings, and aesthetic stickers.)
Cons:
You can put STICKERS on other bottles, I promise.
These things are often very wide, and usually can’t fit in a cup holder so you have to awkwardly hold it in your lap when you’re in the car like it’s a little unruly dog who won’t sit still so you have to hold it firmly in between your legs.
They dent very easily. You could probably dent it by putting a sticker on it just a tad too harshly. You could probably BLOW on it and it would dent. You have to carry it around like it’s a little baby.
The most important con: They are expensive. Like I mentioned before, other bottles have pretty much the exact same materials for a less expensive product, just without the name brand.
In conclusion, Hydroflasks have a lot of cons, but they’re also nice to have for their quality and brand. So buy it if you want or don’t. I'm not your mother.

Hi Annabelle
ReplyDeleteYour yellow hydro flask is super cute! I also thought your post was really insightful about the pros and cons of hydro flasks and very relatable as a fellow hydro flask owner. We mainly buy them for the hype as many other teenagers do just because our friends also have them and because they’re name brands. Your analysis was really good and I totally agree there are better options or just equally as good water bottles for definitely cheaper like the Thermo Flask at Costco. It might just be a teenager or Gen Z thing but we like our name brands, but I’ve also found my hydroflask to be worth the money. However the dent is a major downfall as well. I loved decorating mine too! However you can't run it in the dishwasher or yourstickers might fall off but that applies to any water bottle. Great work!
Hi Annabelle!
ReplyDeleteI, personally, don’t have a hydro flask, but I do have another reusable water bottle. Why not a hydro flask? It was too expensive as you mentioned in your post. You also said that they dent easily which I’ve noticed in my friends’ hydro flasks. My bottle only has scratches on the bottom from being set down on rough surfaces, no dents, and their hydro flasks have dents and scratches. Unrelated to the hydro flasks, but I love all your stickers! This was a really cool post!
