JOY: Chris Pratt
-Is always optimistic, friendly, and funny.
-Often casted for main/important roles in comedies or family movies, or characters with a fun and outgoing personality (Emmet in the Lego Movie, Quill in Guardians of the Galaxy, Andy in Parks and Rec)
-He’s always seen smiling and having a good time.
SADNESS: Tom Hanks (Chuck Noland, Castaway)
-The only survivor of a tragic event which killed everyone on his flight.
-He was alone on the island for several years and often showed how he tried to make company from inanimate objects (such as a volleyball) because he felt so alone.
-His wife and their future was the most important thing to Chuck. When he returned to society, his wife had remarried with kids and everything had changed. He didn’t get a happy ending.
FEAR: Amy Poehler (Leslie Knope, Parks and Recreation)
-Leslie is the boss of lazy, uninterested employees which contrasts her passion for the Parks and Recreation department, and is rarely respected or listened to. She fears them getting in trouble and ruining her reputation.
-Leslie’s boss is grumpy and unforgiving, and whenever her employees get in trouble she faces the consequences from him. She’s shown desperately trying to avoid and clean up any incidents because she’s afraid of getting in trouble with her boss.
-Her mom is a politician, who Leslie looks up to, but her mom shows disappointment to Leslie without remorse. Leslie is scared of being seen as a failure by her mom, which she admits in ‘interviews’ throughout the show.
-Leslie fears letting people down. She’s scared of others not liking her, and often goes over the top to try and convince others she’s a likeable person. Leslie fears failure and judgement.
ANGER: Samuel L. Jackson
-Samuel L. Jackson often stars in action movies, whether it be someone seeking revenge or protecting people he cares for. His characters are often fueled by rage and an ‘I’ll do it myself’ mentality, because he feels those helping him are getting in the way. For example, in Shaft his son wanted to help him get revenge and he pushed him to the side, and in The Hitman’s Bodyguard his character vocally shows how much he hates everyone, especially his ‘bodyguard’, and only likes his wife.
-Samuel L. Jackson’s iconic catchphrase, ‘Mother(bad word)’ is said often by his characters, regardless of the movie. He uses this phrase in frustration and dislike for other people. And most importantly, he says it a lot.
DISGUST: Gordon Ramsey
-Gordon Ramsey is a professional chef who has several TV shows, and often has to teach and judge amateurs. With this comes a lot of bad food he has to try, and he doesn’t hold back in letting other chefs know he doesn't like their food at all.
-Gordan Ramsey is iconic for saying ‘Disgusting!’ after trying food he doesn’t like or looking at food that looks unappealing.
-He also shows disgust through his body language when he tries or looks at bad food and restaurants.
Hey Richard, while reading your inside out choices I noticed you used very specific bullet points to highlight why you chose these individuals. Using bullet points made it a lot easier to make out why exactly you chose these people instead of having to sift through information thats been put all together. By using these bullet points with your reason and a bit of reasoning it made your piece very straight forward and understandable. Great job!
ReplyDeleteYour decisions were both amusing and entirely understandable. With Chris Pratt being joy, Samuel L. Jackson as anger, and Gordon Ramsay as anger are all accurate connections. In addition, I appreciated how you used bullet points, it made things a lot more easier
