JOY: Lin-Manuel Miranda
Lin-Manuel Miranda, as far as I’ve seen, is this really joyful and hopeful person that overall seems to be positive and moves forward no matter what. When people laughed in his face about Hamilton before he finished it, did he stop writing it and throw in the towel? No, he kept on writing it and proved all those people wrong. Everyone loves Hamilton.
Lin is also a great actor. Looking at his character choices he’s made playing certain roles, it’s incredible. I hope I am and/or will be just as good as him in the future.
He doesn’t fail to put a smile on my face which is something that I hope I do to other people
Lin-Manuel also writes music and musicals which is something I have found that I love to do. He expresses his emotions through his music which is something I do as well. I see videos of him with a face of pure joy listening to his own music being played and I feel just so happy for him because that’s something that I hope to achieve for myself one day as well.
SADNESS: Eeyore
Eeyore just had this aura around him that is just sadness. Not only that, his sadness just seems to loom over him which is kind of how my sadness works. Most of the time, it lasts for weeks at a time and that is how Eeyore is.
He also seems to be unmotivated, just done with everything, and wants/needs a hug like I do when I’m sad.
I also vaguely remember one story of Eeyore and his friends being in need of a house for a reason I cannot remember and the others saying they found the friend a house; that house they found being Eeyore’s (I don’t know how they didn’t know it was Eeyore’s house since they’re friends), and Eeyore found it hard to tell them “hey this is my house” and stand up for himself. That is something I relate to because I have trouble with the same thing. Although I am a lot better at it now, it is still a thing I sometimes struggle with.
FEAR: Chidi Anagonye from the Good Place
His probably biggest character trait is that he worries about literally everything which is basically me. If you didn’t know him by name and some said “oh, he’s the guy that overthinks everything,” you’d most likely instantly know they’re talking about Chidi Anagonye. Chidi cannot make a decision to save his life and (sort of spoiler) died because of his indecisiveness. When I’m nervous, I tend to overthink things just like Chidi shows in The Good Place.
ANGER: Kylo Ren
Kylo Ren is just a whole bunch of anger issues and other issues all balled up into one. When he’s mad, he pretty much throws a tantrum and destroys what’s around him. That is something that I relate to in a way because I’ve found myself in a situation a couple times that I’d just have so many emotions balled up (sort of like Kylo) that I’d find myself aggressive and punch a pillow.
DISGUST: Silco from Arcane
Silco is somebody that nobody wants to be or be around because he’s manipulative and gross. He nitpicks and takes advantage of a poor little girl named Powder that just went through a mass amount of loss, trying to form herself into something she isn’t. Analyzing myself, I realize that I have similar traits to him towards myself. From society’s beauty standards, I sometimes find myself nitpicking my appearance trying to make myself into something I’m not like Silco looks at Powder.
It made me so happy to see Silco on your list! I just finished watching that show, and he's such an interesting villain and a perfect choice for disgust. I also agree that Kylo is just the perfect choice for anger. Great job, Cassandra. :)
ReplyDeleteCassie, you chose interesting characters to represent your emotions. I liked how you were able to remember a story of Eeyore and use it to explain how you relate to his inability to stand up for himself, but including how you are better at it now. I loved how you chose Chidi from the Good Place. I enjoyed the show and I never thought about his character. Overall, good job!
ReplyDeleteAll of your choices were spot on, especially the Chidi one. I liked how you chose him because he was the same person I picked for fear. You also made it more easier to read by adding bulleted points for each character. Keep it up! I loved your blog
