From the ripe age of about 8 years old to possibly 13 years old my TV viewing consisted of Disney Channel. I just about hit the last bit of the good “old Disney Channel” era. I was in a weird in between spot where I wasn’t old enough when the Jonas Brothers and Hannah Montana were it’s big it but I still witnessed Liv and Maddie and Girl Meets World, in my opinion some of the last good shows put on. But there were also movies in my time that came out like both Teen Beach Movies’ and Descendants.
I didn’t necessarily have a favorite show but anything on Disney Channel with teenaers pretty much engulfed my attention. Some shows that I caught up on and had earlier seasons coming out were Wizards of Waverly place and Austin and Ally. I see those actors now and it’s a big difference in how much they’ve grown since I was as child. And streaming platforms like Disney Plus allow me to view my childhood favorites again or even iconic shows that came out in earlier years.
However with only being a Disney fan I missed out on childhood Nickelodeon shows like ICarly, Victorious and Big Time Rush. I can now watch them because I’m older and have heard about them through social media, but it’s not the same as being a child and growing up with these shows. I grew up from Disney Junior to Disney Channel to Disney Plus and it still had an impact on my life for over the last decade so thank you Disney.

ReplyDeleteThis post is interesting for me to read because most of these shows that you said you watched, I did not which is funny because we’re about the same age. I never watched Liv and Maddie or Girl Meets World or even the Teen Beach Movies at my own will (my sister was obsessed with them and I was forced to watch them with her). I did watch Descendants though. Now I’m really curious what Disney shows I did watch when I was really little. I’m going to try and do some digging to find out.

I was absolutely obsessed with Liv and Maddie, and I think it was one of the few Disney Channel shows I really watched outside of being introduced to a few by my brothers (Kickin' It and Lab Rats, which were marketed more towards boys). But I was young enough to be really into Teen Beach and Descendants for a little while. This post brought me some nostalgia. Great job! :)
