Live theater is something so amazing. The feeling of performing is indescribably amazing and seeing a show live on stage, you get a little glimpse of what that feeling feels like. The energy radiates within the room, bouncing off wall after wall until the audience feels what the actors and actresses do; from pure bliss to despair.
In theater, the actors create the world around you, going in the aisles, projecting lights in the air, etc. This allows you to get invested in it all, but with television, the limit is the screen in front of you. Nothing can pop out at you or interact with you the way live theater can because it’s live.
Live theater is different every single time you watch it which is amazing. Good actors will adapt to the scene and the other actors and will make slightly different choices as well. Maybe one time an actor misses their cue and someone has to improvise and the next an actor forgets a line- those two shows will be completely different!
Also, if you’re watching a musical, there is something amazingly breathtaking about experiencing a powerful singing voice in person. The emotion and feeling you get from it is jaw-dropping and gives you chills.
I believe that everyone should experience at least one live theater performance in their lifetime to experience its joys that you cannot experience watching it through a screen.
